i just came back from national portfolio review day and i’m pooped but i got some awesome feedback from schools i’m really interested in so the future’s lookin bright, guys! i’m not sure what i want to do yet but it’s nice to hear that i have a good shot at pursuing stuff i’m passionate about. ;v; here are some glare-y photos of oil paintings from last semester i got reviewed; they were my first rly serious shots at portraiture.

if any of you ever get a chance to attend, i really, really encourage it! i hit up MICA, RCAD, RISD, and Calarts so if you have any questions about how it went with them and what they seem to be looking for in their potential animators, feel free to ask!

THIS COOL PERSON was Yami’s secret santa and drew our characters and the designs were so neat I wanted to take a stab at them u m u This was supposed to be a quick doodle so as usual no legs… and then i actually cleaned it up more and regretted not putting them in sighs

I finished OFF yesterday and I haven’t been able to really stop thinking about it!!

It’s a game that deconstructs the typical RPG hero-with-a-quest format and directly addresses the player’s involvement in the plot while being pretty surreal (the four grand elements of the world are smoke, plastic, meat, and metal) and interesting to look at. It’s pretty dry, though intriguing in its strangeness, up until the ending where everything sorta of comes together and blows your mind. It tells you just enough that you understand what’s going on but there’s still a lot left unanswered and open to interpretation.

I’ve had a lot of fun discussing it with Polks—there’s just so much!!! I’d really love to see more thoughts and analysis about it so here’s a link to it if you’re interested! whispers IT’S FREE
